Managing Conflict
Brief Description:
Managing Conflict is designed to help managers and individuals to constructively address and resolve conflict in the workplace. The workshop offers participants models, skills and tools to help them devise creative, practical solutions to workplace conflict so that working relationships are preserved and enhanced. Participants practice resolving real workplace-related conflicts from both sides of the table.

As a result of completing Managing Conflict, participants will be able to:
    • To see conflict not as a liability but as an opportunity to drive results
    • To operationalize tools and skills from the Communicating for Results
       model in order to:

         - Evaluate the costs and benefits of raising a difficult issue
         - Skillfully address diverse viewpoints – using the creative-tension to
                  enhance organization creativity and performance
         - Notice and manage both the internal voice (unsaid thoughts and
feelings) and external behavior (action taken)
         - Conduct effective conflict resolution dialogues
         - Anticipate and take steps to prevent counter-productive confrontations
         - Confidently manage emotion-laden conflict situations
